I went thrifting with my mom over the weekend and got some nice new [old] clothes, but this watch was a MAJOR find! Blythe dolls are really popular in Japan, that's where most Blythe merchandise is manufactured. Finding things stateside is kind of hard, and when you do find something it is expensive. The dolls themselves range from $100 - $1000 ($1000 if it's an old vintage one from the 70s).
I saw this watch in the jewelry case and thought, "Oh that's cute" and bent down to further inspect it and low and behold it had a big-headed Blythe doll on the face. It was a cool $3 US too, originally marked at $4.99.

I really like the way pink/coral and teal look together -- it's such a vibrant combination. And I love floral prints; anything that looks like it belongs on a tea cozy.
I look a bit glum in this picture. Perhaps it's because the dress behind me is something that I've been drooling over since January. It was on sale for 30%, so I tried it on, but then realized it looked much better on the hanger than it did on me. *sigh*

I seriously need to invest in a tripod! These mirror shots are a bit ridiculous.
But anyhow, today I feeling sort of Indiana Jones-ish with my off white, khaki and brown color palette.
And look, I'm wearing shorts! This is a very rare occurrence as I have always been very anti-shorts since I hate the way they ride up between my thighs and accentuate my thick thighs. I've changed my tune lately, I'm owning my thickness!
Shorts: Old Navy
Boots: Purchased at Ross
Bag: Stella McCartney for Lesportsac
Necklace: Purchased at TJ Maxx

I recently got a job helping a woman get her web business together, so I work at her home office. I showed up in this outfit, and before I left she told me to wear what I want, even if they're "comfortable" since we're working at home. I was like... but I like to dress up and look fancy. :/

[shoes purchased at Ross for $9.99 US, size 10]
Daddy: What size shoe do you wear?
Me: Nine. Nine and a half. Ten. It depends on the shoe.
Me: Yah. It's because you guys blessed me with your wide feet.
Daddy: Is that our fault?
Daddy: Is it our fault that you're alive?
Me: Of course. I didn't ask to be born, and I certainly didn't ask for fat feet!
I remember a few years ago, when I first watched In Her Shoes, I was miffed when Toni Collette's character said, "When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good... food just makes me fatter... shoes always fit."
Uh... not true for all people. Shoes don't always fit. Maybe they do, but sometimes they hurt at first. You have to break them in, and in the process you get blisters and deep cuts. This is why I was always a bag person. Bags don't hurt you (unless you put a bunch of stuff in there, then it can hurt your shoulder a bit).
Okay, that was a bit of a rant.
I'm done now!
